There are so many perks to living in the heart of Silicon Valley – access to new people, culture, food and technology but with that comes the challenge of finding affordable housing. Rental home and apartment prices tend to be high in the Bay Area, so we recommend finding a roommate/housemate to split the cost of housing and utilities. WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT RENTING IN SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco, located in northern California, is the financial, cultural, and transportation center of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the second-most densely populated city in the United States, after New York City. There is no multiple listing rental service and most city realtors do not handle rentals, so finding a rental property requires contacts and creativity.
