Oceanside City Downtown Location and Culture

Home to some of the best surfing locations in California, Downtown Oceanside is the quintessential beach town. Easily accessible from the I-5 and the Coaster commuter train, Downtown features a diverse atmosphere. Local surf shops, casual restaurants and museums are straddled along the city’s boardwalk all the way to the harbor. Oceanside Harbor has two adjacent playgrounds on the beach, a wooden pier and even a camping site. Housing The housing market in Downtown Oceanside is mostly made of single-family detached homes. Other prevalent type of housing in Oceanside include large apartment complexes or high-rise apartments and, row houses. Schooling Oceanside Unified School District serves the entire Oceanside area. Over 18,000 students across 23 schools part take every year. Students and adults across our district are valued and consistently show integrity, compassion, and respect.

Activities and Landmarks Oceanside has a unique ocean vibe. With a permanent collection of the history of surf, wave-riding and surfboard memorabilia, the California Surf Museum also offers many revolving exhibits each year.
