Renter’s insurance provides coverage for theft or damage of the personal property in your rental home (such as furniture, electronics, clothing, etc.). If you are renting furniture, contact the furniture rental company and ask for the replacement cost of the furniture. This information should be given to your insurance agent along with the value of your personal possessions. Insurance companies often offer discounted rates when combining various types of coverage. For example, if you receive renters and automobile insurance from the same carrier, they may offer a less expensive rate for carrying the two different policies with their company. To get the best rates, it is recommended that you shop around. Looking for

Climate Mountain View has a Mediterranean climate with an oceanic influence. Summers are hot and dry, while winters are mild and wet. However, both summers and winters are moderate due to its relative proximity to the Pacific. The climate has less maritime influence than the climate of San Francisco, further north on the peninsula. During the course of the year, the temperature generally varies from 6°C to 25°C, rarely falling below 35°F or rising above 86°F. Based on a tourism score, the best time of year to visit Mountain View for hot-weather activities is from late June to late September.

Historical Facts + As one of the oldest communities in Silicon Valley, Mountain View is home to historic buildings stretching back to the mid-1800s. Downtown Mountain View's main street, Castro Street, is lined by an eclectic mix of structures from nearly every era of the city's development, from the 1870s to today + The residential neighborhoods flanking either side of Castro Street were mostly developed between the late 1800s and World War II + In 1854 Mountain View is named by Jacob Shumway, a storekeeper and the town's first postmaster. He was credited for naming the town, forming the Mountain View School District + In 1902 local residents vote to incorporate the City of Mountain View and officially establish the town as a city on November 7, 1902. The initial population of the city was of 610 people, with limits defined on the north by Washington Street, on the south by El Camino Real, on the west by Pettis Avenue, and on the east roughly to Calderon Avenue + The areas of Mountain View north of Central Expressway and south of El Camino Real were primarily agricultural until the 1950s.
