When can I pick up my driver’s license?

Procedure in the Rhein-Siegkreis (Left side of the Rhine: Meckenheim, Wachtberg etc.) First, go to your local registration office and request for a certificate of good conduct/“polizeiliches Führungszeugnis”. When requesting, please mention that you need the certificate of good conduct for the transfer of your driver’s license. Your local registration office will forward the certificate to the Führerscheinstelle (authority responsible for driving licenses) in Meckenheim when it is done. You will also pick up your German driver’s license at the Führerscheinstelle in Meckenheim. The authorities will not always notify you when your license is ready to be picked up.
