Our event host is Georgie Barrat, a technology journalist, broadcaster and presenter. As well as co-hosting Channel 5’s Gadget Show she is a regular on ITV, has written about technology for publications including Marie Claire to the Mirror to the Huffington Post, and offered thoughts and opinions on Channel 4 and the BBC . Alongside her work as part of the Gadget Show team, Georgie is a regular on ITV’s Weekend as the show’s resident tech expert and has created reports for ITV Tonight. Other presenting credits include Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff alongside Matthew Wright and live coverage of Formula E. She has also worked on-camera with a range of tech companies including Sony,Acer, EE,Asus and HP. Away from reviewing the latest devices, apps and developments Georgie tackles everything from the effects on business and society by advances in technology to the keys to engaging with and motivating Millennial and Generation Z employees. She is also passionate about women working in technology and encouraging school-age girls to learn to code and be involved in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). She strives to make technology and the digital world as exciting, relevant and inclusive as possible.

As the CEO and founder of GDR Creative Intelligence, Kate Ancketill has accrued more than 21 years of experience in trends affecting business sectors and consumer behaviour, sharing her visionary insights around the world. Kate has considerable experience in live TV, radio, podcasts, events and print. Peter Brodnicki Imagine. Build. Learn. Adapt.
Peter has been CEO of Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) since 2001 and has overseen the business as it has grown to become the UK’s most recognised intermediary consumer brand, winning over 150 national awards for the quality of its advice and service. Now, with a network of over 1,600 advisers offering expert mortgage advice on a local, regional and national level to consumers digitally, face to face and by phone, Mortgage Advice Bureau handles over £16 billion worth of loans annually. It was also the first – and is currently the only – mortgage intermediary to have floated on the London Stock Exchange, having joined the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in November 2014. MAB came to market in 2000 as the first specialist mortgage network dedicated to the estate agency sector.The business has been on an incredible journey over the past 21 years and continues to evolve with estate agency still very much in its DNA. Peter describes MAB as a customer-obsessed business that is entering the most exciting time in its 21 year history. Developments in technology will allow for enhanced engagement with future customers, presenting a wealth of opportunities that have been alive only in Peter’s imagination until now. The most exciting times lay ahead for MAB and Peter will share details of how the business got to where it is today, the challenges faced, risks taken, key decisions made and – perhaps most importantly – why he believes the next five to 10 years will bring tremendous opportunity for those with a passion for the industry.

Roger Martin-Fagg Economic Overview
Back by popular demand, Conference favourite, Roger Martin-Fagg returns as this year’s keynote economist. Roger started his career as an economist with the New Zealand Government and returned to the UK to work in the air transport industry before teaching strategy and economics at the Henley Management College.He specialises in making economic activity, trends and indicators understandable to non-economists,cutting through jargon to reveal what the numbers really mean. Roger has designed and facilitated strategic management programmes for organisations including PowerGen, Lloyds Banking Group, EDS, and The Economist. He is also the author of Making Sense of the Economy, a practical explanation of everything from GDP to money supply to interest rates, aimed at those who are not economists. At the Conference… Roger will provide an economic outlook for the near and long term. He will share his insights into the financial and policy worlds, and combine these with management strategy, so that you may understand how the current economic climate may impact the UK housing market and your business.

Dima is the Director and founding partner along with his wife, of Ark Properties, a China-based real estate brokerage focusing on corporate relocation and leasing services in Shanghai. Initially a boutique real estate brokerage, the business quickly expanded to corporate relocation and destination services with a primary focus as a vendor to China-based multinationals and global Relocation management companies. In 2018, the company was acquired by Dwellworks. Dima was born in Hong Kong, raised in Germany and speaks German, English and Chinese. He is a real estate enthusiast and investor and since 2017 serves as a member of the Global Advisory Board of the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. He has been in Asia for nearly 20 years and recently relocated to Perth, Western Australia with his family.

Gus is a 15-year veteran of theNewYork real estate scene.Managingdirector at several large firms, thousands of transactions, a thought leader on bringing transparency, professionalism and good humour to the process of finding a customer’s first home in New York. Currently he is the New York Tri-State Managing Broker for Station Cities, the real estate division of Dwellworks, with oversight for 50+ agents. Gus’ specialty is streamlining the search, using his encyclopedic knowledge of New York buildings and owners to streamline every search, and recognising that finding a home needs a holistic approach. Shelly Bean is an accomplished eight year real estate professional in the greater Seattle, Washington area. She quickly rocketed from a top producing agent to company trainer and mentor, to her current role as founder and leader of the Seattle operations of Dwellworks’ specialty real estate brokerage Station Cities. With a formal and extensive background in education and training, Shelly seeks to lead her team through growth, discovery and professional development as they continually expand their local services, expertise, and relationships. Nathan works alongside both estate and letting agents and also with Proptech start-ups through the Land Registry backed Geovation hub and NAR Reach UK to introduce modern technological solutions to the home buying and selling process. In a fascinating presentation Nathan will provide an overview of key legislation, policy and regulatory updates in addition to sharing sector specific statistics, trends and notable information.
MELANIE HOWELL
Melanie is the Training and Development Manager at Manning Statinton a RAN member. She has worked within the Estate & Lettings Agency business for over 17 years, starting with zero experience in the property industry having previously only worked in customer service roles. She quickly realised that the property industry is all about customer service something that she knew only too well. Initially in Sales she supported various roles until 2007/8 when sales fell to the ground overnight and she was asked to step into the world of Lettings to help manage the influx that was about to hit.With no experience in this field, it was tough but she learnt on her feet and soon realised she absolutely loved it. Having spent many years in lettings,Melanie now helps train and develop teams and individuals new to the industry but also those who are looking to learn more about how they can be the very best at what they do. In this session, Melanie will be exploring the additional revenue streams and opportunities within the landlord & tenant customer journey with top tips on when to introduce them. She will also be recognising the importance of client relationship management to stabilise and grow your lettings portfolio through great service.
