TV Licence In Ireland it is mandatory to have a TV licence while you are resident in your property. You must have a TV License if you watch or record programs on a TV or computer or any other device as they are being broadcast i.e., ‘live’ or if you are watching live, catch up TV or downloading content. To obtain a TV License, please visit: https://www.tvlicence.ie/Homepage.aspx Failure to comply can result in legal prosecution and or a fine up to €1000. If you have any queries on this, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Insurance Please also note for rental properties that the Landlord is only responsible for insuring their own possessions with that property. You are responsible for insuring your own personal belongings and effects. Please be advised Dwellworks can arrange for an Insurance Broker to provide competitive quotes for both renters and car insurance. Please let me know I will gladly refer your details. Waste Collection For private homes you will need to arrange with a provider to set up an account for your garbage disposal. Your Dwellworks contact can advise on how to transfer this account into your name. Generally, for apartment complex’s waste is included in the rental amount, but the letting agent/landlord will need to confirm this. Please ensure that you are shown where the bins are located, in the complex at the handover of the property. Water Water is on at the property. Currently water charges are suspended so you will not receive any bills for water. Your agent/landlord needs to confirm with you at the check in if you are required to register with Irish Water. If you are, they will provide you with the WPRN number for this. Please see link https://www.water.ie/customer-registration/how-to-register/. If you have any questions you can call Irish Water on 1890 448 448 or an alternative number is 01 707 2824. Parking Parking may or may not be included with your property – this will be specified on the lease document. If parking is NOT included, it is important to follow the parking regulations in the location of your property as many clamping companies are in operation in Ireland. If you are unsure of the parking regulations at your new home, please ask your property agent or landlord for clarification before parking your car. If a parking space IS allocated, please ensure that you are shown the location of your space at the property handover to ensure you are using exactly the correct space. It is your responsibility to park in the correct designated location as outlined by the property agent or landlord.
