Guanajuato is considered by many to be the most beautiful city in Mexico. Established as a silver mining town in colonial times, brightly colored buildings tumble down the hills of the city. It is quite easy to spend an afternoon wandering through the narrow allies and climbing flights of stairs while admiring the distinct architecture! The large student population makes for a lively environment with an unhurried feel. Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its incomparable culture.
