Hoofddorp is the main town of Haarlemmermeer municipality in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. The first windmill in the Haarlemmermeer was built in the center of Hoofddorp; it has operated regularly since and is now open to the public. Hoofddorp is connected by many bus lines to several cities and towns in the immediate surroundings. It is very easy to reach Haarlem, Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Zuidoost by the high-quality bus line. Housing From small, historical houses alongside the ring canal, to new, modern homes in urban neighborhoods, housing in Hoofddorp follows the usual compact Dutch style. As the central location between Amsterdam, The Hague, and The International Schiphol Airport living and working in Hoofddorp and the surrounding areas is ideal. Schooling Hoofddorp Village is part of Haarlemmermeer municipality, which has a large number of primary and secondary international schools to choose from, such as the Gifted Minds International School (GMIS) and Optimist International School . It is always important to remember the Dutch school system differs from the traditional education model. Children after age 12 have two main tracks: one leads toward university, and the other towards professional or technical school.

Located south of Amsterdam center, Oud-Zuid is known as the museum quarters. The neighborhood boasts the Rijksmuseum with Dutch and European art, and artefacts from the Middle Ages to the present day. On the outskirts of Oud-Zuid, several food markets, designer boutiques and outdoor cafes showcase an array of entertainment from high-end shopping to outdoor made-to- order crêpes with delicatessen cheese. Housing Oud-Zuid District is a prime area to reside with the highest average value homes in Amsterdam. The area is mainly home to artists and students. Apartments, small townhouses and shared flats are the most common accommodation. House rental rates have been going up in the area due to the area’s posh, hip vibe.
