City Design and Layout Aguascalientes is one of the 32 states of the Mexican Republic. Its capital is the City of Aguascalientes, located in the municipality of the same name. It borders to the north, east and west with the State of Zacatecas; to the south and east with Jalisco. Its political division consists of 11 municipalities, which are: Aguascalientes, Asientos, Calvillo, Cosio, El Llano, Jesus Maria, Pabellon de Arteaga, Rincon de Romos, San Francisco de los Romo, San Jose de Gracia and Tepezala. Highways The following are frequently traveled avenues inside the city and metropolitan areas: + Lic. Adolfo Lopez Mateo : important avenues that crosses the middle of the city from east to west passing through the center. + Blvd. Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta: located in the northern part of the city, it is the main avenue for restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and car dealerships. + Av. De la Constitucion de 1914 (1er anillo): it is an inner Ring Avenue that surrounds the city, known as 1 st Ring. + Av. Aguascalientes Nte. (2do anillo): it is a middle Ring Avenue that surrounds the city, known as 2 nd Ring. + Av. Siglo XXI (3er anillo) : it is an outer Ring Avenue that surrounds the city, known as 3 rd Ring.
Frequently travelled highways to exit the city: + Carretera Federal 45 South – to Leon, Queretaro and Mexico City + Carretera Federal 45 South and 80D – to Guadalajara
+ Carretera Federal 45 North – to Zacatecas + Carretera Federal 70 East – to San Luis Potosí + Carretera Federal 70 West – to Calvillo
