Adobe Intern Community Guide - San Jose
WELCOME TO SAN JOSE
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR INTERNSHIP WITH ADOBE! We are so excited you will be joining us soon. The Bay Area is an amazing and diverse community with tons of activities to do and places to see. There are many perks to living in and around San Jose, the heart of Silicon Valley – access to new people, culture, food and technology—but with that comes the challenge of finding affordable housing. Rental home and apartment prices tend to be high in the Bay Area, so we recommend finding a roommate/housemate to split the cost of housing and utilities. Figure out where you want to live and get started on the search as early as you can. We have compiled some information together for you to help get you oriented with your internship location. Our best advice is to keep your options open and be creative in your housing search! San Jose and the greater Silicon Valley are currently among the most competitive housing markets in the country, and the lower (but still pricey) end of the rental market is the most competitive. As you can imagine, many renters are looking to save as much money as possible on monthly housing costs, so when a quality studio or one-bedroom apartment pops up for rent, competition can be fierce! These units will likely not be remodeled, and some will be in good condition and well- maintained with a reserved, off-street parking space included, and maybe a small patio or balcony. Apartments at any price point will often rent within a day or two of being listed. WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT RENTING IN SAN JOSE
